We held our third game jam with the gamelab in Mozilla Paris office in the beginning of april… Here are some brief words on what happened.

People jammed online or came in the beautiful office of Mozilla France, in the center of Paris. Scientists from Institut d’Optique and Ecole Normale were here as well to spice the scientific content of this gamejam. We created games about “Light” to celebrate the International Year of Light.

This event was an occasion to expand our vision on the scientific topic of light. The gamejam’s theme was : COLOR AND LUMINESCENCE Jonathan Piard from ENS Cachan introduced us to the light in chemistry with several fun experimentations! Jamers also had the opportunity to use a theme modifier power to the player thank to the sandbox team.

Around 40 people showed up for the weekend and for the most part, they were game making specialists from Paris, Grenoble and Lilles!

7 great games were made some of them are online and ready to play at this adress :

Thanks again to everyone who participated and keep in touch with us for more scientific themed gamejams!

This event was a collaboration between three organizations: the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (CRI) with its gamelab team organizing the event in partnership with Jam Shaker an association that run game jams and Mozilla that encourages and supports people to develop new things for the web.
